Salim Ali (12 November 1896 – 20 June 1987) was a naturalist and ornithologist who spent a lifetime in leading overviews and squeezed for the need to save feathered creatures. He composed progressively a few books on flying creatures and was instrumental in the setting up of many fledgling asylums with some of them named after him. Ali has been deliberated with the Padma Bhushan in 1958 and the Padma Vibhushan in 1978.
